POSITION SUMMARY
The Temporary Puppet Series Associate for the 2015 Summer Puppet Series at the RCAC reports directly to the RCAC Coordinator. The Temporary Puppet Series Associate serves as a public face of the RCAC, and, by extension, the City of Roswell. To this end, the Temporary Puppet Series Associate should at all times maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with patrons and clients of the RCAC. The Temporary Puppet Series Associate will handle all logistics and set-up/breakdown for the twice weekly puppet workshops, as well as assist with front of house and box office for performances during the 2015 Summer Puppet Series at RCAC. This position is a part-time position with some weekend hours required. Specific hours are required for this position in June and July with flexible hours February through May. Hours required: Monday – OFF; Tuesday 9:30am – 1pm; Wednesday 9:30am – 12pm; Thursday 9:30am – 1pm; Friday 9:30am – 12pm; Saturday 9:30am – 12pm.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Temporary Puppet Series Associate’s daily responsibilities shall be to work in consultation with the RCAC Administrative Assistant and RCAC Coordinator to ensure all logistics and necessary paperwork are prepared and handled for the twice weekly summer puppet workshops, as well as assist with box office operations and set-up/breakdown of lobby area for performances from June 1 – July 19, 2015.

The Temporary Puppet Series Associate corresponds with puppeteers concerning workshop needs and supplies; works with RCAC office staff to ensure clear marketing campaign for workshops; oversees and implements registration process for the public for the offered workshops; tracks expenses for workshop materials; performs set-up and breakdown duties for workshops; acts as a representative of the RCAC and City of Roswell to all patrons (young and adult) during time present at RCAC; attends puppet planning meetings as required; assists with box office duties such as selling tickets for performances; creates tracking system and tracks necessary information for reporting to National Endowment for the Arts as required by grant stipulations.

The Temporary Puppet Series Associate helps to monitor the safety and comfort of those in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. This includes the cleanliness and safety of the lobby and elevator, assistance when required or directed related to table and chair set-up/storage, monitoring public restrooms and other areas for cleanliness and assessing the status of meeting rooms following occupancy. Providing first aid supplies and/or contacting emergency services, providing audience services, monitoring security cameras, giving directions to lost individuals, accommodating the elderly and disabled patrons: these are all necessary functions of the Temporary Puppet Series Associate.

The Temporary Puppet Series Associate operates a personal computer, scanner, telephone, general office equipment, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e mail, Internet, or other computer programs; performs basic maintenance of computer system and general office equipment, such as backing up data or replacing paper, ink, or toner. Some design programs may be utilized for communications with the public. Knowledge of and ability to work with social media is required.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include making copies, sending/receiving faxes, sending and receiving emails, computer data entry, filing documentation, processing incoming/outgoing mail, or delivering documentation to other offices.

Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.

Provides assistance in the sale of tickets and help with RCAC presentations as directed.

Works with volunteers and/or interns.

Performs other related duties as required.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
1. High school diploma generally required
2. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
3. Experience with performing arts and artists
4. Knowledge of computers and relevant software, including all Microsoft Office applications
5. Knowledge of online marketing programs, such as TicketBiscuit and Mailchimp
6. Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
7. Knowledge of RCAC environs and standards
8. Knowledge of RCAC processes and applicable rules and regulations

ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (15 - 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
