SUMMARY
Under supervision of Superintendent of Recreation, the Sprayground General Manager manages and supervises the daily sprayground and concession operations of Riverside Park and East Roswell Spraygrounds. Spraygrounds are open seven days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Riverside Park Sprayground is open weekday mornings and weekend through the end of September. Shifts will vary based on weather, day of week, time of day, and availability of workers. Must be able to work up to 40 hours a week and be available: Days, Evenings, Weekends and Holidays where needed. Weekday mornings through Labor Day, then weekends only during the month of September.
The Sprayground General Manager position requires an enthusiastic leader to supervise site managers and staff, oversee daily operations and facility maintenance, concession stand operations, and enjoy working with the public. Works as a Site Manager at both locations. Both spraygrounds operate 59 hours a week during summer season, hosting daily visitors, groups, day camps, private rentals, birthday parties and a yearly special event. Excellent customer service and communication skills essential. General computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel are needed. Must be able to work some hours beginning late April to prepare for season and work Memorial Day weekend – Season Opener.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, and must be able to work in a team atmosphere, display excellent customer relations skills and maintain cash, inventory, and facility controls. Aquatic facilities management experience preferred. First Aid and CPR Certified preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions
Facility
1. Prepare Spraygrounds for Seasonal Opening and Closing.
Closing > A few weekend hours late April or early May to prepare facilities. Some hours in May, Orientation, May 16 and facility opens May 23.
2. Oversees all daily Sprayground and Facility Maintenance (Concessions and Pavilions).
3. Analyzes mechanical features and reports potential problems (will train).
4. Oversees all chemical and mechanical operations (will train).
5. Troubleshoots Mechanical Issues (will train).
6. Inspects facilities for cleanliness and safety, acting appropriately and quickly to rectify deficiencies.
Supervisory
1. Supervision, Training and Evaluation of Site Managers, Assistant Managers and Staff.
2. Staff Scheduling with Site Managers, monitoring of timesheets and payroll preparation.
3. Creates a positive work environment with open communications.
4. Plan, direct and lead Staff Meetings.
Operations
1. Promotes a Safe, Clean, Fun, Service-oriented Environment for guests and staff.
2. Manage Daily Operations and Registration/Cash Management.
3. Scheduled as Site Manager at both locations.
4. Manage Concession Sales and Operations – inventory and purchase of food and supplies.
5. Coordinates all details of Birthday Parties, Rentals, Groups, and Events with Managers and patrons.
6. Administers CPR, First Aid and other emergency procedures (facility shutdown) as required.
7. Promotes and operates facilities within departmental policies.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

2. Experiences ongoing concerns for all safety and liability issues.
3. Must have ability to deal with other people under stressful situations.
4. May have to work under stressful situations when First Aid or CPR is required.

1. Lifting is occasional, usually 30 pounds or less.
2. Must respond to situations quickly and accurately.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
1. May be required to work during various weather conditions, including hot temperatures.
2. Must be able to work around pool chemicals – treated water.
