CULTURAL ARTS CENTER HOUSE MANAGER
Duties and Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
The House Manager is responsible for managing the front-of-house for selected rentals and ensuring the comfort and safety of patrons at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center (RCAC). The House Manager is the onsite representative of the Cultural Arts Center and, therefore, the City of Roswell and must project and maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times and in all interactions with the client, technical staff and patrons. The House Manager’s primary duty is to make certain that the theater is clean and orderly before and after each rehearsal and/or performance and to interface with renters as the primary contact for rehearsals and performances. Work is primarily performed in the evenings and on weekends and requires lifting of up to 50 pounds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prior to event:
- Make sure that the lobby and bathrooms are clean.
- Review the facility worksheet to assess the client’s needs.
- Unlock the doors to rooms that are being used and turn on the lights.
- Set up the lobby according to worksheet.
Upon the client’s arrival:
- Indicate time of arrival on lessee’s sign in/sign out sheet.
- Find the person in charge, introduce yourself, explain you are here to assist them and answer questions.
- Open the auditorium doors at designated times.
- Assist patrons attending the event with any needs they may have.
During event:
- Check restrooms for cleanliness and supplies.
- Walk around to make sure everything is okay and assist client with tables, chairs and other needs.
After event:
- Sign in/sign out sheet: Indicate time of departure and detail any issues, damages or problems.
- Auditorium (and balcony, if used): Pick up trash in seating area and vacuum as needed.
- Clean restrooms: Sweep and mop floors, clean toilets, wipe down counters, clean mirrors, restock supplies, empty trash including sanitary napkin bags in stalls.
- Lobby: Empty trash cans, wipe the outsides of the lobby trash cans.
- Dressing rooms: Vacuum, clean tables, clean mirrors, empty trash cans, sweep and mop bathrooms, restock soap and paper products, if needed. Lock doors.
- Kitchen: If used during event, clean as needed.
- Clean windows and glass doors.
- Take trash to outside dumpster.
- Check all lights including theatre lights and tech booth.
10. Lock all inside and outside doors.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; six months experience in cleaning and building maintenance; six months experience in delivering customer satisfaction at a high level; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out detailed but routine written or oral instructions. Involves routine work according to clearly prescribed standard practices, with some latitude for independent judgment. Also involves non-routine work in regards to interaction with clients and servicing of those clients’ needs.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment in situations characterized by repetitive or short cycle operations covered by well-established procedures or sequences. Also requires the ability to exercise judgment in situations characterized by non-typical requests and assessable need-fulfillment for clients.
ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability: Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, temperature and noise extremes, or traffic hazards, pathogens and bio-hazards.
