All potential candidates should be able to meet the lifeguarding prerequisites. Managers should have excellent social and conflict resolution skills. Candidates must have the ability to oversee a staff of 5-7 lifeguards and keep them on task, such as cleaning restrooms, pool deck and overall cleanliness of the facility. Successful pool manager candidates should be comfortable with potentially stressful situations and maintain calm and order with both patrons and lifeguard staff.
Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously, be able to dive up to a depth of 12 feet of water and recover active and passive drowning victims, and have good cardiovascular health. Lifeguard certification is preferred, but training options are available. 1-3 years of lifeguard experience and/or pool management experience is preferred. Water Safety Instructor certification is preferred.
